En el presente texto, se plantean de manera concreta los antecedentes y eventos destacados de la historia de la fotografía que se volvieron piezas fundamentales en el desarrollo y la búsqueda de la perfección a través de la acción de escribir con luz, además se mencionan los precursores de la fotografía y los aportes que realizaron en distintas épocas de la historia. Asimismo, se muestra un recorrido por los procesos análogos, mismos que se fueron actualizando con el paso de los años hasta llegar a la era digital, donde a pesar de que la impresión fotográfica ya no es un acto esencial como en sus inicios, el impacto visual que tiene una imagen fotográfica sigue siendo evidente.
“Del daguerrotipo a la cámara lúcida” plantea la llegada de la fotografía a México y la digna representación de fotógrafos y fotógrafas que son referentes en diversas ramas de ese arte visual, así también, se hace una breve reseña de cómo es que ésta llegó a la ciudad de Guadalajara, cuna también de importantes creadores con trayectorias destacadas que incitan a los fotógrafos y fotógrafas emergentes a dar continuidad con la exploración, experimentación y creación de nuevas imágenes que podrán convertirse en piezas que formen la historia de nuestro presente en un futuro.
