Este mural es un documento histórico que nos ubica a lo largo del siglo XVIII, sitúa la esencia de un tiempo, expresa una serie de acontecimientos precisos y ofrece una versión histórica de primera mano. El pintor se vuelve un cronista tanto de la sociedad novohispana de mediados de los años 1700, donde la razón iluminaba a la humanidad. Este libro presenta una descripción de todo el contexto del mural en honor a fray Antonio Alcalde, un hombre que promovió la difusión del conocimiento a través de las universidades, apelando por la salud, la espiritualidad y el amor al prójimo."
