Actualmente es Candidato a Doctor en Ciencias Sociales en la Universidad de Guadalajara con la tesis: “La comunidad transnacional tulense: memorias del proceso migratorio de los empresarios restauranteros mexicanos en Carolina del Norte”. Se desempeña como profesora Investigadora Titular del Departamento de Historia del Centro Universitario de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades de la Universidad de Guadalajara donde se también es docente en las licenciaturas en Historia y en Antropología, así como en la Maestría en Historia de México. Ha sido responsable de los siguientes proyectos de investigación: Historia e identidades en la Villa de Zapopan; Historia del Guadalajara Country Club (1909-1998); "Memorias compartidas en el Valle de Tesistán"; Corresponsable del proyecto “Jaliscienses destacados del siglo XX”; “Experiencia y memoria de la migración: los restauranteros mexicanos en Carolina del Norte”; “Recuperación de la Memoria de la Migración mexicana a Estados Unidos Actualmente desarrolla los siguientes proyectos: “Crecimiento urbano en Zapopan durante el siglo XX: primeras colonias"; "Memorias y conformación de la comunidad Latina en Carolina del Norte" y "La institucionalización de la cultura en Jalisco, 1968-1996". Fue responsable del programa y proyecto de investigación: "Rescate y Ordenamiento del Archivo Histórico Municipal de Ejutla, Jalisco" y Coordinadora del equipo de investigación del proyecto: "Museo de la ciudad de Zapopan". Este libro dos ejes vertebradores: el espacio y los fenómenos históricos. El primer término, desde una multiplicidad de significados y relaciones entre actores, lugares, aspectos región, territorio o territorialidad. El segundo, como construcciones históricas donde los sujetos tienen centralidad y sus acciones definen los procesos, problemas, permanencias y movimientos en la sociedad. En el engranaje de ambos, mediados por el tiempo, se dan las figuraciones sociales, políticas, culturales y materiales. En los siete capítulos que integran esta obra los autores establecen sus concepciones respecto de los espacios y los fenómenos históricos de la Colonia, el siglo decimonónico o el XX. El lugar -una ciudad, una demarcación virreinal, espacios coloniales, institucionales, de frontera, socioculturales, delictivos, legales, políticos, religiosos o económicos- donde los individuos viven en interactúan es conceptualizado según los problemas y las temporalidades investigadas. Las aproximaciones a los conceptos exponen los límites abstractos y empíricos, temáticos y fenomenológicos, de los sujetos y acciones humanas vertidas en las discusiones presentes en este libro.

Ha sido responsable de los siguientes proyectos de investigación: Historia e identidades en la Villa de Zapopan; Historia del Guadalajara Country Club (1909-1998); "Memorias compartidas en el Valle de Tesistán"; Corresponsable del proyecto “Jaliscienses destacados del siglo XX”; “Experiencia y memoria de la migración: los restauranteros mexicanos en Carolina del Norte”; “Recuperación de la Memoria de la Migración mexicana a Estados Unidos Actualmente desarrolla los siguientes proyectos: “Crecimiento urbano en Zapopan durante el siglo XX: primeras colonias"; "Memorias y conformación de la comunidad Latina en Carolina del Norte" y "La institucionalización de la cultura en Jalisco, 1968-1996". Fue responsable del programa y proyecto de investigación: "Rescate y Ordenamiento del Archivo Histórico Municipal de Ejutla, Jalisco" y Coordinadora del equipo de investigación del proyecto: "Museo de la ciudad de Zapopan". H. Ayuntamiento de Zapopan, Jalisco. Fecha de inicio: marzo de 1999.
