A lo largo de las páginas que siguen, más que encontrar interpretaciones definitivas o respuestas absolutas, los lectores hallarán problemas, pistas para pensar, curiosidad por saber más de la obra de Bernstein y la de la rica tradición que él representa. Acaso el mérito principal de los trabajos que siguen sea mostrar la riqueza de posibilidades del pragmatismo para enfrentar algunos de los problemas acuciantes de nuestro tiempo. Que la filosofía no es ya, que no puede aspirar a ser, mejor dicho, un sistema cerrado de conceptos que den cuenta definitiva de un ámbito completo de la realidad, la experiencia, el pensamiento o los dilemas de la acción humana, es algo que queda claro luego de leer estos textos, incluyendo, desde luego, el del propio Richard Bernstein.
